Cambridge City Foodbank is searching for a Warehouse Assistant

We’re looking to recruit a hard-working Warehouse Assistant to join our team. In this paid position, you’ll be supporting the Warehouse Manager in the operation of the warehouse and assisting with deliveries and collections.

Job Title

Warehouse Assistant (temporary contract, with the potential to extend)

Summary

Reports to: Warehouse Manager.

Hours of work: 37 hours spread over Monday – Friday according to the need of operations. Will include some early evening commitments. 25 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus statutory holidays.

Overall responsibility: Assist the Warehouse Manager in all operational matters and deputise on a limited basis from time to time when the Warehouse Manager is absent.

Ethos: Must be accepting and comfortable with the Christian ethos of Cambridge City Foodbank, although they are not required to participate.

Duties

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with the operation of the warehouse
  • Assist with deliveries and collections

Person profile

Requirements/skills:

  • Able to lift and move food boxes up to 20kg in weight
  • Must have a clean UK driving license and be prepared to drive a manual transit and an automatic van

Personal attributes:

  • Positive attitude and ability to contribute as a team member in diverse teams of volunteers
  • Able to work unsupervised and independently
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
