Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. Our volunteer force of over 110 people are loyal and turnover is low but we do have immediate opportunities for volunteers in some specific roles. The positions we are seeking at the moment are shown below.

Van driver

We have a vacancy for a driver for our delivery van on Monday mornings. This is a transit van and can be driven on a regular car license. You are required to have a clean license and be able to load and unload crates of up to 20kg. The van delivers food to our distribution centres and collects from supermarket collection points.

Thursday Evening Warehouse Team

We need people to join our new Thursday evening warehouse team (5pm-8pm). The work involves weighing in and sorting food donations, and packing the food boxes that go out to our distribution centres. You need to be reasonably fit and active and able to lift crates of up to 20kg.

Tuesday Morning Warehouse Team

We need people to join our Tuesday morning evening warehouse team (9:30 – noon). The work involves weighing in and sorting food donations, and packing the food boxes that go out to our distribution centres. You need to be reasonably fit and active and able to lift crates of up to 20kg.
